Parking in Mountain Village
The summer weeks in Mountain Village are filled with outdoor movies, free concerts, educational lectures for kids and adults, music festivals, arts festivals, and many others. Due to the number of events happening in Mountain Village, TMVOA would like to ensure our members, your guests, and visitors are able to get to these events with no hassle. So please view the below articles regarding parking in Mountain Village during the summer months. Please pass this along to any of your guests traveling to Mountain Village.
Parking...if you live in or are visiting Mountain Village
The Town of Mountain Village provides FREE transportation within town limits and into the town of Telluride year-round, which allows you convenient access to all summer events in Mountain Village, as well as Mountain Village restaurants, bars, retailers and lodging establishments.
Park in the Gondola Parking Lot and take the Gondola to Mountain Village Center
There is ample parking available in the Gondola Parking structure and it is FREE parking during the hours of 7:00 am to 2:30 am. If you wish to park overnight in the Gondola Parking Lot, you will need to pay to park at a rate of $20 for each occupied space. Park your car and then take the FREE Gondola up to Mountain Village Center and get to all the summer concerts, events and activities. The Gondola's hours of operations are 7:00 am to 12:00 am every day in the summer.
Park in the Meadows Parking Lot and take the Bus to the Blue Mesa Bus Stop in Mountain Village Center
In the Meadows Parking Lot, there is FREE parking available all day and night with overnight access. Park your car and then take the FREE Bus to Mountain Village Center, which operates every 30 minutes from 6:45 am to 11:45 pm daily.
Park in the Village Pond Parking Lot (next to BootDoctors) and walk to Mountain Village Center
To park in this Lot you will need to pay to park at a rate of $2 each hour between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm with a maximum of $20 for the day. After 5:00 pm, parking is free, but you must remove your vehicle by midnight as no overnight parking is allowed.
Park in the North Village Parking Lot (next to Westermere Building) and walk to Mountain Village Center
To park in this Lot you will need to pay to park at a rate of $2 each hour between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm with a maximum of $20 for the day. After 5:00 pm, parking is free, but you must remove your vehicle by midnight as no overnight parking is allowed.
Call Dial-A-Ride and ride to Mountain Village Center
Town of Mountain Village offers Dial-A-Ride as another form of FREE transportation for residents and visitors to and from most locations within our town limits. Dial-A-Ride operates seven days a week from 7:00 am to 12:00 am. To access this public service amenity, follow these steps:
- Call for pickup and drop-off. Use a courtesy phone located in the gondola terminal located in the Village Center, ask a Guest Service Agent to radio you a shuttle, or dial (970) 728-8888
- Have your information, such as your name, the number of riders, your phone number and the pick-up and drop-off location request ready so that Dial-A-Ride may process your call.
- Be ready to go when Dial-A-Ride arrives as they can only wait for three minutes; your cooperation will be appreciated by the next customer in queue.
Parking...if you are traveling to Mountain Village from Telluride
Mountain Village is a scenic ride away from Telluride and offers riders a front row seat with Mother Nature at 10,500 ft.
Did you know...
- The Gondola takes only 13 minutes to go from the town of Telluride to the town of Mountain Village
- The Gondola is free to ride and funded by TMVOA and operated by the Town of Mountain Village
- The electricity used to operate the Gondola comes from wind power purchased from San Miguel Power Association Inc.
The Gondola's hours of operations are 7:00 am to 12:00 am every day in the summer. So, be sure to take advantage of the most efficient, green and FREE mode of transportation in our area.
If you do wish to drive up to Mountain Village, please park in any of the above mentioned acceptable Parking Lots.
No parking...
Do NOT park on Mountain Village streets if you are attending an event.
Unless the Police or a Guest Service Agent directs you to park in a designated location on the street, please do not park on Mountain Village streets. Unauthorized parked vehicles will be ticketed by Mountain Village Code Enforcement officers.
Do NOT park in the South Village Center Parking Lot (next to Blue Mesa Building) if you are attending an event.
Free parking is available, but ONLY with a 30 minutes limit and no overnight parking is allowed. Unauthorized parked vehicles will be ticketed by Mountain Village Code Enforcement officers.
Do NOT park in the Grocery Parking Lot if you are attending an event, unless you have a Permit.
Free parking is available, but ONLY with a 1 hour limit and no overnight parking is allowed due to routine maintenance. Unauthorized parked vehicles will be ticketed by Mountain Village Code Enforcement officers.

Grocery Parking Lot
Free parking is available, but with a 1 hour limit for customers. No overnight parking is allowed due to routine maintenance.
Gondola Parking Lot
Free parking is available during the hours of 7:00 am to 2:30 am. If you wish to park overnight in the Gondola Parking Lot, you will need to pay to park at a rate of $20 for each occupied space.
South Village Center Parking Lot (next to Blue Mesa Building)
Free parking is available, but with a 30 minute limit. No overnight parking is allowed.
Meadows Parking Lot
Free parking is available with overnight access. The Town does offer bus service from the Meadows Neighborhood Bus Stop, so please review the Town's Bus schedule.
Pay-to-park in Mountain Village...
The Town of Mountain Village has four parking lots in which payment is necessary at certain times of the day, and the Town accepts cash, credit card or a prepaid Mountain Village Parking Card. The parking meters are not the typical kind, so please follow the instructions carefully once you have submitted payment.
Heritage Underground Parking
The Heritage Parking Garage, located below Capella Telluride in Mountain Village is owned by the town of Mountain Village. Parking rates are set at $2 per hour between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm with a maximum of $30 for the day. The only acceptable form of payment is credit card. Signage in the parking garage will denote this fact and the rate structure.
Gondola Parking Lot
If you wish to park overnight in the Gondola Parking Lot, you will need to pay to park at a rate of $20 for each occupied space between the hours of 2:30 am and 7:00 am.
Village Pond Parking Lot (next to BootDoctors)
You will need to pay to park at a rate of $2 each hour between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm with a maximum of $20 for the day. Meters are monitored by Code Enforcement. After 5:00 pm, parking is free, but you must remove your vehicle by midnight as no overnight parking is allowed.

Parking Permits for Mountain Village residents
The Town of Mountain Village wants to ensure residents continue to have access to a number of convenient parking options within town limits, so Mountain Village residential parking permits are available. Residents may obtain a permit from the Mountain Village Police Department by showing proof of residential status thru acceptable documentation, such as a utility bill or vehicle registration form.
Residential Permit Parking Rules
- Display your permit in the lower, left-handed side of your vehicle's windshield.
- Permits may be issued for multiple vehicles residing at the same address, but only one vehicle per address may utilize the permitted area at a time.
- Obtaining a permit does not translate into free parking in lots requiring payment, nor does it give residents with permits extended time limits on short-term parking unless otherwise directed.
- Parking signage denotes permitted spaces.
Permitted Parking Lots in Mountain Village:
- Grocery Parking Lot
- A number of spaces on the southwest corner of the lot are available for permitted vehicles with a limit of 4 hours. No overnight parking is allowed due to routine maintenance.
- Gondola Parking Lot
- Level 7 parking spaces are reserved for permitted vehicles with unlimited daytime use. No overnight parking is allowed on this level.
