Winter in Telluride

After 3 days of SERIOUSLY sub zero temperatures, a lot of Telluriders are waking up to frozen pipes this morning. A frozen pipe burst up near Tomboy Road yesterday, shooting water 75 feet into the air!! Brrrr, its definitely chilly out there. On Tuesday we maxed out at 5 degrees in town, and -10 degrees on the mountain. That left only a very few brave souls on the slopes! Today, temperatures are on the rise, hovering around a more 'balmy' freezing level. The sun is shining, the sky is a bright cobalt blue and there is no wind - these are the kinds of winter days we mountain folk dream of.

We received about 6 inches of fresh snow at the beginning of the week, and the arctic temperatures in Colorado are keeping the mountain in good shape. There is another similar storm headed for the San Juans late this week/early next week, so fingers and toes crossed this storm gives Telluride some more snow love....

Telluride Rentals has extended our Winter Ski Special - buy 4 nights, get the 5th night FREE on selected condos, town homes and private homes. This is a great opportunity to snap up a seriously stylish platinum property at a great price. We also have some incredible "last minute" offers on selected properties, which may even trump the Winter Ski Special. Last minute deals depend on availability so call us today to get the very best rate on a last minute reservation. Combine these deals with our discounted lift ticket offer, and you can enjoy a Telluride vacation at a fraction of the usual cost.

And for those of you who have never been to Telluride and are wondering what all the fuss is about (or maybe you haven't been here for a while and have forgotten how jaw droppingly beautiful it is here!), I thought I would share a few happy snaps of a recent ski day up in the Palmyra basin...I also threw in a few wildlife shots from an afternoon walk!
