We’re sure many of you are getting excited about your upcoming ski vacations in Telluride, and that was even before you knew about our great restaurant scene here, and all of the delicious fare that comes along with it.

Well… allow us to educate you on just what you can expect when it comes to dining in our beautiful mountain town!

The Butcher & The Baker, owned by long time locals Megan Ossola (The Butcher) and Cinda Simons (The Baker) has become a solid Telluride institution in its short existence. Locals and visitors flock to this café for fresh bakedgoodies, organic salads & sandwiches, local produce and delicious drinks. TheButcher & The Baker is open for breakfast & lunch daily. 217 E. Telluride’s award-winning pizza reserves a special place in the hearts of locals, with their extensive menu and excellent beverage selections. Not only do they order the famous Detroit style pizza, but they serve up calzones, pasta dishes, burgers and oven baked subs. Stop by for a slice, to watch a game or grab a beer. 110 E. Oak (The New Fat Alley) – 970.728.3985

No butts about it! Oak is the real deal. Located at the base of the gondola, under the Camel’s Garden Hotel, you will find the home-cooked food of OAK – the place for bourbon beer and BBQ. If you have a hankering for some fried okra New Orleans style, or you’re ready to try the “Carolina Sandwich” – a Carolina recipe of pulled pork marinated in vinegar and brown sugar, stop by Oak! 250 San Juan Ave, Telluride

Tomboy Tavern – call 970.728.7467 for reservations, however they’re not needed.

A gastropub at the base of the mountain, just steps from the ski lift, this is Mountain Village’s newest restaurant. Killer bloody marys and monstrous burgers. Great beer selection. Mountain Village

Approachable and Delectable: Great food, without all the fuss…

The “Kitchen of Light” specializes in food prepared with love. Featuring handmade tortillas, a salsa bar and daily specials, La Cocina incorporates traditional cooking methods with organic and whole foods. Pescado offers fresh, affordable, beautifully prepared sushi, with an Asian-fusion menu in a relaxed atmosphere. There is a full bar offering an extensive wine, sake and beer menu, in addition to signature cocktails. Pescado is open nightly and centrally located right downtown on Telluride’s main street. If you’re looking for Thai food in Telluride, Siam is the place to go. Not only is it Telluride’s only dedicated Thai restaurant, but the food is excellent by any standards. Located in a small old house on the corner of Davis and Pacific streets, it is a cozy space with a great bar. Pad Thai. Spicy curries. Free range chicken, wild salmon, duck breast. 200 S. The offerings at the Bistro are plentiful and well priced. In the winter there is a charming rustic dining room that seats 36 people. Get in line early though as there is a no reservation policy.
