I feel like I have barely been outside this week. That's because I haven't really. The sudden change in the weather (brrr!), combined with a very busy work week can only mean one thing. Winter is almost on our doorstep!!
In addition to the office being busy, I have definitely noticed the same comments coming from a lot of prospective guests and travel agents this year. Skiers want to come to Telluride!! Sure, we have always known that Telluride is fantastically beautiful, and fabulously unique, but Telluride's popularity seems to be (pardon the pun) 'snow balling' at an ever increasing rate. I don't know if its the ever expanding terrain, or the genuine, preserved western town and friendly locals, but if I had a dollar for every guest that says "we have had enough of the bigger, glitzier, resorts, we want to try out Telluride", I would have a good chunk of change. I'm dreaming of the Maldives in the off season!. Sorry, I digress....
It doesn't matter how many times I hear these comments from people, it always gives me a little buzz of excitement. Telluride really is one of the most spectacular and unique places in the world. Not just for skiing, but for living as well. We have a rare combination of laid back, North American western living combined with the dramatic European Alps-esque landscape. I am always excited when someone is about to see Telluride for the first time. It has an effect on people. And combined with the fact that Telluride is that little bit more difficult to get to (than many of the resorts along I-70), I think Telluride attracts people who are eager to get off the beaten track, and have a little more adventure in their lives!
The beauty of working for Telluride Rentals is that we get to share the magic of the Telluride area with our guests all of the time. It is such a great job, to be able to help guests with their plans in visiting Telluride for skiing, festivals, biking, hiking, fishing and all the other wonderful things on offer.
I want to showcase a property this week that has just completed some fairly major renovations over the summer. Hood Park is a 5 bedroom home that has been listed with Telluride Rentals for quite some time now. However, given the impressive result of the renovations, I wanted to share the new photographs with everybody. The home has truly epic views of the Mt Wilson range, and is filled with light from every direction. It is ski in/ski out and has a huge deck which soaks up the sun in winter and summer. It also has a studio above the garage which can easily serve as a 6th bedroom if you are a larger group.
