Festival enthusiasts from all around the world flock to stunning Telluride, Colorado, each summer for the spectacular offering of amazing festivals, but you don't have to wait that long for a fabulous festival experience. A Bit of History
Thanks to the joint efforts of the Sheridan Arts Foundation and Jeb Berrier, the festival's co-director, this excellent comedy tradition has continued each year since 1999. In its 18th year, the 2017 Telluride Comedy Festival has been scheduled for four amazing evenings, Thursday, Feb. 16 through Sunday, Feb. 19. Each performance will begin at 8 p.m. at the historic Sheridan Opera House, which is conveniently located on Oak Street.
Thursday night is reserved for the local talent to strut their stuff, and each of the remaining performances will feature a specific comedic form. You may expect to enjoy sketch comedy, improvisational comedy, stand-up comedy, alternative comedy, character comedy, prop comedy, physical comedy and observational comedy just to name a few. You may even have the opportunity to see a world-premiere act before it takes off to entertain on the comedic circuit.
While each year has seen many seasoned veterans and the most popular professional comedians perform during the Telluride Comedy Festival, the event organizers have made the decision to keep the lineup a secret until showtime.
