Stunning Telluride, Colorado, is a premier vacation destination that truly deserves its prestigious reputation, and it’s not just because of the area’s incredible natural beauty, luxurious accommodations, exceptional skiing opportunities and wonderful year-round outdoor activities. Telluride is also extremely popular for its sensational dining opportunities, and the latest addition of the RBG, which is formally known as the Roma Bar and Grill, is just another great reason that you’ll want to come take a bite out of Telluride just as soon as you can get here.
Perfectly located in an extensively renovated historic building in downtown Telluride, the Roma Bar and Grill just recently opened its doors this last December. Local restaurateurs, Greg Pack, Eric Wells and Chris Hamm, spent several months renovating the building, and that included a full replacement of the entire first floor. Though the building received a modern makeover, many of the historic elements were carefully preserved. Visitors can still sit down for a drink at the original walnut bar that was crafted by the Brunswick-Balke-Collener Company all the way back in 1860, and you’ll discover several other historic holdovers throughout the building.
RBG met with rave reviews straight out of the starting gate, and you’ll enjoy the comfortable, laid-back style of this restaurant that offers something for everyone. You’re welcome to start with a meal upstairs, and then head downstairs to the full bar for a drink and a bit of social interaction at the community-style tables. Those who want to head straight to the bar will find some tasty tidbits available on the late-night bar menu in addition to the wonderful drink selection. You should also plan to take some time to explore the building to see all of the cool memorabilia on the walls, and the large-screen televisions are always showcasing the biggest sporting events.
